Sustainability at BreakFree Beachpoint

At Breakfree Beachpoint, sustainability is a fundamental aspect of our ethos. We believe in embedding sustainable practices into every aspect of our daily operations, recognising that our commitment to the environment is an ongoing journey. Here are some of the initiatives we've implemented to date:

Dry Amenities

We are delighted to share our ongoing commitment to reducing single-use plastics in our guest rooms. As part of this initiative, we have made a significant decision to eliminate single-use dry amenities, taking a bold step towards a plastic-free environment. By removing single-use plastic amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, and shower caps from our guest rooms, we are significantly reducing our environmental footprint. Instead, guests can request dry amenities by or visiting our friendly team at reception.

Large Amenities

As part of our ongoing efforts, we have made the proactive decision to move to large format amenities, replacing our single-use plastic common amenities with eco-friendly pump dispensers throughout the hotel. By eliminating single-use plastic bottles, we are significantly reducing the amount of waste generated by our operations.

Recycling

At Breakfree Beachpoint, we have a recycling bin located in the basement of our car park where all guests and residents can separate mixed recycling from their general waste, minimising our impact on landfill. We have 10 cent container recycling bins along with a 3000-litre recycling bin.

In addition, we supply our guests with either cardboard water bottles or glass in lieu of single use plastic alternatives, in line with our commitment to plastic-free operations.

Community Support

We are committed to maintaining strong connections with our local community and give back wherever possible. We partner with local charity 10 Cent Tom, to raise funds from 10c container recycling to support employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Acknowledgement of Country

The team at Breakfree Beachpoint acknowledge and pay respects to the land and the traditional owners of the Yugambeh region of which we operate on and extend our respect to their Elders past present and emerging.

We are proud to be a Sustainable Tourism Certified hotel with Ecotourism Australia. The Sustainable Tourism Certification program assesses our environmental, socio-economic, cultural and responsible management principles to ensure we are minimising our negative impacts and maximising benefits for the environment, communities and culture. This achievement reinforces our ongoing commitment to delivering sustainable hospitality and creating positive impacts for our team, guests, local community and planet.

Accessibility

At Breakfree Beachpoint, while our property is fully accessible, we understand the importance of dedicated accessible rooms. Currently, we don't have dedicated accessible rooms, however, we do have showers that are not over baths and are large enough to place a shower chair in. Should you wish to find out more information, please contact our friendly reception team.
